Buenos Ayres”

Original steel engraving from volume 12 of the series “Meyer's Universum oder Abbildung und Beschreibung des Sehenswerthesten und Merkwürdigsten der Natur und Kunst auf der ganzen Erde” directed by Joseph Meyer and published by the Bibliographisches Institut of Hildburghausen in 1847.

Beautiful example in perfect general condition and very nice watercoluring.

Joseph Meyer was an influential German merchant, industrialist, journalist and publisher, he founded the publishing company Bibliographisches Institut in Gotha in 1826 and moved to Hildburghausen in 1828 where he remained until his death.
