Persian tribal rug with Gul motif - Hand-knotted wool, Iran, early 20th century
Elegant Persian rug from a tribal area, hand-knotted in wool on a cotton warp and weft, probably from the western Iran region, attributable to Bakhtiari manufacture or neighboring tribal contexts, such as some Luri or Qashqai nuclei. The design develops in a dense and orderly repetition of octagonal medallions (known as guls) on a carmine red background, with blue, ivory and rust orange details. The border is framed by three bands with stylized floral motifs, typical of the traditional decorative repertoire. The overall effect is balanced and lively, with great decorative strength. The back of the rug shows a symmetrical knot (Ghiordes knot), compact and regular, made with craftsmanship. Measurements 122 × 205 cm Materials Pile: wool Weft and warp: cotton Hand-knotted Condition Good. The rug has slight wear from foot traffic consistent with age and worn fringes. No invasive restoration. Authentic rug, ideal for both classic environments and modern interiors with an ethnic taste. --- Worldwide shipping available.
