Persian wool tribal rug – Iran, 20th century
Hand-knotted Persian tribal rug, probably of Baluchi origin (Iranian Balochistan), dating back to the 20th century. The field is decorated with a repeated geometric pattern, consisting of octagons with star elements, on a red and black background, enclosed within a multi-border frame. The color range is restricted but intense, dominated by red and black tones with small beige inserts that create a refined contrast. Knotted entirely in wool on a wool warp and weft, it has irregularities typical of nomadic production. The conditions are good, with slight signs of use compatible with age. Original label on the back ("Made in Iran") present. Dimensions: 185 x 105 cm Material: Wool Technique: Hand knotting Origin: Iran For more information or additional images, do not hesitate to contact us. Worldwide shipping available
