Antique elegant Caucasian GAREBAGH runner, with a red "rize mahi" design on a black background. On the upper left it bears the date: 1316 (=1900).
The bright red color is given by the dye extracted from the madder root. This carpet also deserves to be set in a living room, in front of a bookcase. It measures cm. 549 x 96, it is straight despite the length, perfect.
