Cicim or jajim GASHGAI - n. 914 -
Gashgai (or Kashgai) nomad carpet woven on the loom as "cicim" or "jajim", ie without the fleece. It is a typical product of the nomads and serves as a blanket, as a household cover, as a tent, or simply not to lie down on the bare ground. The design is very simple, almost childish: small stylized animals such as deer and dogs, small flowers just sketched: it could have been woven by a little girl in several strips, then assembled. The wool is hand spun and dyed with few plant substances. Measure cm. 188x 180 (strange size ...) and probably dates back to the 40s-50s.
