Tribal Persian rug, handmade in the Malayer area, between Hamadan and Isfahan, in the first half of the 20th century. The central field is decorated with an elegant geometric medallion, framed by a dense sequence of stylized floral motifs and diamond rosettes, typical of the local decorative tradition. The main border, well-proportioned, is marked by a series of floral and geometric motifs on an intense blue background, flanked by two minor bands. The color palette – in red, blue, pink, ivory, and black – is still vivid and bright, despite the evident central wear that gives the rug an authentic and lived-in look. The pile is hand-spun wool, on a cotton warp, knotted with an asymmetric knot, according to the traditional technique of the region. Accentuated wear in the medallion area, but a stable structure. Rug suitable for vintage, rustic, or eclectic environments, also perfect as a decorative complement in contemporary contexts.
