Example of extreme finesse in execution, a unique piece: for collectors. Probably never used on the floor, but hung as a decoration.
It dates back to the Shah Pahlavi period.
The Sarugh is nevertheless a sturdy rug, suitable for any environment. This one has a very dense floral design with red (obtained from madder) on a midnight blue background to highlight the design. Details in green and light blue colors.
