Description Aubusson manufacture, made in France during the 18th century, depicting an interior scene set in a classical architectural context. At the center of the composition, there is a group of six figures arranged around a four-poster bed, where a reclining figure lies, assisted by other figures in sumptuous robes. The expressions and gestures suggest a moment of solemnity or farewell, perhaps a scene inspired by mythology, ancient history, or religion. The figures are richly dressed, with draperies and details finely rendered in shades of blue, gold, beige, and brown, which give depth and movement to the scene. In the background, architectural elements and gardens are glimpsed, creating a perspective effect that expands the visual space. The whole is enclosed within an elaborate decorative frame, typical of Aubusson production, adorned with floral motifs, musical instruments, vases, and trophies, symbols often present on the borders of tapestries of the period and representative of the cultural richness of the era. Dimensions HxWxD 267cm x 306cm x 1cm Provenance Private collection Conditions Defects. Restorations.
