Ancient saddle of GASHGAI nomads - n. 243 - from a private collection -
Ancient saddle of the Persian nomads GASHGAI, possibly dating back to the 1920s. It is the classic carpet that nomads put under their leather saddle. This is ancient, probably before the 1920s, so the two side stripes that were placed around the horse's neck have been lost. I have whole other ones in my collection that I can admire. This can be used as a rug, or placed on a bench, or hung on the wall as a decoration. All my rugs have been rigorously washed. Measurements: cm. 152 x 95.
