VERNEH antique from private collection - n. 780 -
Old Caucasian VERNEH kilim of the best Caucasian tradition. Exemplary dating back to the early 1900s but in excellent condition. It is made up of two parts because the nomads did not have a fixed frame, but in the migrations they made up the frame by planting the stakes in the ground; when they had to leave, they rolled up the already woven work on the small loom that they recovered. When the work was finished, the two parts were joined but sometimes the drawings did not match: it is still a characteristic and for collectors it has an extra charm, certainly not a defect. The wools were spun by hand and dyed with vegetable substances, which over time form inimitable shades. measure cm.
