18th Century Italian Empire Beaded Crystal Chandelier
Antique original Empire six-light beaded crystal chandelier, dating back to late 18th century, of Italian origin, coming from a Piedmontese private palazzo.The hand-made circular structure consists of an Empire classical drop-shaped frame topped by an original beaded crystal crown. Round brass rings show gold traces, are engraved with burin geometric decorations on the outer side; rings are joined together by oval crystal chains and festoons. The larger crown is decorated with unique grafts of leaves like a fern made with crystals strung on an iron core.The whole structure is finely decorated with crystal swags and diamond-shaped prisms. Six scroll-shaped arms ending with precious crystal bobeches.
This antique chandelier comes from a private Italian palazzo in Piemonte, the region more closed- to French border.Good condition, it is born for candle lighting in 1700 but in the past it should have been once wired for electricity, now it features no wiring, just romantic candles.Dimensions: 110 cm high, there are no chain, cup or canopy, chandelier height only, x 75 cm.
