Late 18th Century Gilt Neoclassical Clock
Refined gilded bronze clock, with splendid gilding. The object features classic decorations, typical of the period, with festoons and musical instruments. In the upper part, in fact, there is a guitar resting on a musician's stool on the right, while on the left there is a young man standing, intent on playing the flute. Above the dial, moreover, there is a musical score depicting on which it is written: "Air des Visitandines", a famous piece from the late 18th century, generally accompanied by the guitar. The dial is characterized by Roman numerals and has a key to set alarms. The mechanism, with wire suspension, is from the period and working, and the chime reproduces the sound of the hours and half hours. It is a clock of great taste and refinement, able to furnish any environment with elegance and class. French manufacture from the end of the 18th century.
