Marble and gilded bronze mantel clock, France, late 19th century
Elegant French mantel clock dating back to the late 19th century, made of sculpted white marble and finely chiseled gilded and burnished bronze. The white enamel dial features delicate hand-painted floral motifs and openwork Empire-style hands.
The architectural structure, supported by four marble columns with gilded bases and capitals, is embellished with festoon, bow and finely crafted urn decorations. Under the body of the clock stands a burnished bronze putto figure, symbol of grace and lightness, holding a torch.
The upper part is adorned with a sculptural composition of doves and floral wreaths, an emblem of peace and love, typical of the French neoclassical aesthetic.
A clock of great refinement and quality, perfect for enriching classic or eclectic style environments.
