Constantinople

after William Henry BARTLETT

(Kentish Town 1809 – 1854)

Constantinople”

Six original steel engravings after drawings by William Henry Bartlett from the collection “Views in America, Great Britain, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy, the Holy Land etc.” printed and published by John Milton Emerson in New York in 1852.

Nice examples with full margins, slightly browned and with some foxing stains at the withe borders, otherwise in good conditions.

Interesting set of views of Constantinople, the today's Istanbul, with monuments and people in typical costumes.

The six prints have advertising of american trade or industrial firms printed on the verso as happen on the entire collection.
