Collectible Icon - Yaroslavl School - Late 19th century - Guardian Angel and Votive Saint - Cm 30 x 35 The Icon of the Mother of God of the Sign is, for ancient knowledge, among the first sacred images found in the Roman catacombs already at the end of the second century AD This venerable representation of Mary with Christ, apparently in his lap, it leads us to think that the work was commissioned for family worship. The placement in the frame of the Angel Xranighel, that is the Angel who protects the family, and of a votive saint, confirms this hypothesis.
