Collectible Icon - Moscow School Early 18th century - Diameter Cm 25 Like every evangelist, this Icon too was designed to be inserted into a royal door located in the Iconostasis. Rare, well described, it is worthy of being collected for its rarity. It would be nice to always have the four evangelists in your collections. They were appointed to write Christian history and, as such, they assumed particular importance in Russian iconography. Great price for a museum work.
