Splendid ancient Russian icon depicting "La Deesis", with a composition which in addition to the three main characters (Christ Pantocrates seated between the Virgin and Saint John the Baptist), also portrays the four Evangelists in the upper part, the two Archangels Michael and Gabriel on the sides of Christ, the two prophets Elijah and Moses and the saints Peter and Paul kneeling at his feet.
