Drawing, "nude study"
Item Description
Pencil drawing, "nude study". The artwork portrays a young model, with tousled hair, in the prime of his virility. The man rests his right foot on a step and, leaning over, holds his ankle. This position refers to classical models and seems to immortalize the moment when an athlete prepares for a competition. The artist, with a skillful hand, has managed to bring out the anatomy of the human body. Through the use of chiaroscuro with hatching, highlighting with touches of sanguine, he seems to immortalize the strength that springs from the tension in the muscles. Meticulous details, such as the face, the hair, the fingers; everything shows great executive mastery.
Presented in an antique walnut frame, but not from the same period as the artwork.
