The painting represents a rural landscape in which a party takes place we see several figures many women and some men on the left without clothes or covered by a few carefree colored drapes as they converse with each other. On the right we see some women bathing naked in a pond. The theme of the landscape in Italy is of great importance in the seventeenth century brought back into vogue by Hannibal and his school, but in our painting we note a great ability to amalgamate the classic theme with a completely idyllic flavor. The characters and nature are equally important in the expressive poetics sought by our artist. Excellent perspective yield also achieved thanks to the skilful use of colors and light that opens a beautiful sky with clouds on the horizon. The light in the background filters through the trees in the foreground and brings light to the brown tones of the countryside. High quality pictorial painting. The painting has undergone a restoration, the original canvas has been lined and the frame is no longer the original one. A professional cleaning made it possible to recover the chromatic beauty and some nudity probably covered in later times. Painting sold unframed.
