Prestigious pair of large oil on canvas portraits, depicting Maria Maddalena of Austria and Cosimo II de' Medici.
The female portrait shows Maria Maddalena of Austria in ceremonial dress, richly adorned with golden details and precious jewelry, including long pearl necklaces and a jeweled belt, and is depicted with a bust enriched by an elaborate ruff collar. While the male portrait depicts Cosimo II de' Medici in a proud pose, with his left hand on his hip and his right resting on a table. He wears a brocade doublet and gilded puffed breeches, a dark cloak with precious lining, and a high, stiff ruff collar.
