Florentine school of the seventeenth century Saint Francis in meditation Oil on canvas 74 x 53 cm The work in question belongs to the Florentine pictorial sphere of the last quarter of the seventeenth century and the first decades of the eighteenth century. These are the years in which the lesson of Carlo Dolci, to whom the work evidently refers stylistically, lives thanks to the activity of his cousin and faithful pupil Onorio Marinari.
