On the bed of a river, next to a bend formed between two small waterfalls, two figures are conversing seated next to the large trunk of a tree.
The architecture of a small village and the luxuriant vegetation form the background to the composition.
Note the two wayfarers who, on a distant road, are leaving the village.
The small painting, of exquisite workmanship, is part of that specific production of elegant 'souvenirs from Italy', dedicated to glimpses of Rome and its countryside, created for travelers on the Grand Tour.
The painting has a free circulation permit, issued by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which certifies its age and gives the item the possibility of being exported.
