Bolognese school of the eighteenth century. Tempera painting on canvas. Measurements cm h. 101x75. Lot consisting of five ovals of landscapes with ruins and figures of commoners. The paintings examined under the black lamp show some restoration interventions. The scenographic execution in the representation of the ruins and of the characters highlights the pictorial characteristics of the artist V. Martinelli, especially in the care of the anatomical rendering of the well-drawn characters and in the description of the details; from the fisherman's basket to the drapery of his clothes. Vincenzo Martinelli, was one of the best known and most active landscape painters in Bologna between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
