The portraits in question, of modest dimensions and made in oil on oval-cut cardboard, depict a nobleman and a noblewoman belonging to the 18th-century Neapolitan aristocracy, dressed and styled according to the fashion of the time. The small portraits are embellished with gilded and carved wooden frames with acanthus leaves that wrap around and follow the oval shape of the support.
