Pair of still lifes with fruit, coffee pot, and chocolate pot – Northern Italy, late 18th - early 19th century
Pair of oil paintings on canvas depicting fruit compositions with everyday objects. One painting features peaches, pears, plums, and apples alongside a metal chocolate pot and a chocolate cup with its saucer; the other features apples and various fruits accompanied by a metal coffee pot and a coffee cup with saucer.
The works, probably by the same school or workshop as the previously presented pair (ID 1592982), show a common style and similar naturalistic sensibility. The rendering is essential and luminous, with a simple and direct taste, typical of painting from the northern Italian area between the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Both canvases retain their contemporary carved and silvered wooden frames, of refined workmanship and in good condition.
Period: late 18th – early 19th century
Technique: oil on canvas
Canvas dimensions: 65 × 45.5 cm each
Frames: original, in carved and silvered wood
Condition: good, with slight losses and minor tension on the canvas, without significant interventions
Lot of great collecting interest, which dialogues perfectly with the other pair already published, probably the result of the same artistic environment.
