Iki - Ningyo fisherman
Lacquer sculpture depicting a fisherman with his long fishing rod returning with the wooden basket to simulate bamboo intertwined with two large fish. In this sculpture the sculptor has managed to convey all the veracity of the instant, it is lacquered to show every detail including muscles, bones and veins. Muscle fatigue and tiredness after a day of work can be read in the expression of the face and the uncertain walk, it seems to turn around and meet our gaze.
