Finely carved boxwood okimono with a pair of octopuses and two fish next to a woven bamboo basket. Very rare representation of large and unusual horizontal representation also worked under the base. Double-colored horn eyes with Jigaku signature on oval gusset. Provenance: Japan Period: Meiji second half of the 19th century. Dimensions: 11 x 20 x 8 cm. State of conservation: Very good
