16th Century Fountainhead Sculpture
Unique and precious sculpture in carved white marble, probably depicting Aeolus, the god of the wind. The sculpture was created as a fountainhead, as is evident from the opening on the mouth intended for the outflow of water. The back is smoother, while the front has well-defined eyes and nose; the eyebrows take the form of wing-like designs, and the head is completed with a fleur-de-lis in the center, on the forehead, which further embellishes the decoration. Coming from a Florentine residence, this sculpture represents an object of great antiquity and taste, capable of enriching any environment with a touch of history and elegance. Tuscan manufacture of classical inspiration, from the 16th century.
