Splendid Alabaster Sculpture signed Pugi: "Woman with Child" Detailed Description We offer a magnificent and touching alabaster sculpture, the work of the famous Italian sculptor Guglielmo Pugi (active between the late 19th and early 20th centuries) or his renowned workshop in Florence. This piece of high artistic quality captures a moment of tender interaction: a young woman/mother elegantly dressed, leaning on a finely sculpted balustrade, supports a child wearing a cap or bonnet. The expression of the younger figure, with a finger brought to the lips in a gesture of quiet or concentration, adds a remarkable sweetness and emotional depth to the scene. The balustrade, richly carved with an openwork motif of floral rosettes, contrasts beautifully with the fluidity and realism of the drapery of the garments, typical of Pugi's style. Main Features * Material: High quality alabaster with natural veins that enhance its brightness. * Signature: Engraved on the base, clearly visible, the signature "Pugi". * Period: Late 19th - Early 20th century (Belle Époque/Art Nouveau style). * State of Conservation: Excellent, consistent with age and historical use, with the authentic patina of ancient alabaster. Added Value Pugi's works are internationally recognized and sought after for their technical mastery, expressive pathos and ability to render the texture of fabrics and human anatomy. Dimensions * Height: 49 cm * Base Width: 20 cm * Base Depth: 16 cm A regular certificate of authenticity with photos is issued.
