Ancient bronze sculpture Naples bust, 19th century
Ancient Italian sculpture dating back to the second half of the nineteenth century depicting the bust of a typical Neapolitan "scugnizzo" subject, a recurring theme in the sculpture production of those years in the partonopeo capital. The young boy, probably a "fisherman" is immortalized in the act of laughing and in his gaze we see all the light-heartedness of his tender age. With a strong decorative impact, also considering its beautiful dimensions, it has a contagious, sunny smile and full of good humor.
