BRONZE SCULPTURE PORTRAIT OF MOZART LATE 19TH CENTURY
Beautiful bronze sculpture cast using the lost-wax process, depicting a young Mozart. The famous composer and musician is represented in typical 18th-century attire, wearing trousers, boots, a waistcoat, and a knee-length coat, as visible and known from his most famous portraits. His hair is styled in a traditional wig, while his gaze is focused on the violin he is playing; the bow features an iron string. The sculpture is mounted on a bronze base, on the front of which is the inscription "Mozart," which identifies the subject of the work. On the same base, the inscription "Chiparus Lamant" can also be read, probably attributable to the sculptor and the foundry. French manufacture from the late 19th century.
