Venus Callipyge sculpture - late 19th century
Particular alabaster sculpture from the late 19th century depicting the Venus Callipyge, also known as Aphrodite with "beautiful buttocks", now kept at the Archaeological Museum of Naples. The goddess is depicted in the act of lifting the peplos to reveal her hips and turning her gaze over her shoulder towards the viewer.
