Original woodcut published as frontispice of n° 429 of the french weekly periodical “L'Illustration Journal Universel” issued in Paris 17 May 1851.

Nice example with a central horizontal fold and a few stains at the lower edge, otherwise in good condition.

Beautiful view of the american town with the borough of Manhattan as it appeared at the middle of the XIXth century.
