Platinum Ring with Aquamarine and Diamonds – American Masterpiece of the 1960s A piece of jewelry that seems to emerge from the luminous showcases of the great American maisons of the 1960s, when high jewelry chose platinum as a symbol of absolute perfection. This ring, rich in historical charm and extraordinary technical refinement, embodies the radiant elegance of that era: a perfect balance between craftsmanship, harmonious proportions, and pure light. Made entirely of platinum – the metal preferred for the most prestigious creations – it features a finely pierced setting, hand-modeled with a chiseling work that gives lightness and a surprisingly complex structure. The basket, articulated and symmetrical, accompanies the central gem enhancing every facet through an alternation of solids and voids typical of American workmanship of the mid-twentieth century. The protagonist of the ring is a natural Aquamarine with a pure sky-blue color, emerald cut of about 4 ct: a linear and regal cut, loved for its ability to enhance the transparency of the stones and create deep and geometric plays of light. The stone is supported by a refined four-prong platinum setting, designed to ensure stability and maximum visibility. Framing the gem is a crown of natural diamonds artfully arranged with a combination of historically very prestigious cuts: round brilliant cut diamonds alternating with taper cut diamonds, typical of high-end rings of the 50s-60s. The round ones give diffused brilliance, while the tapers – set with channel setting and calibrated – create a luminous progression that accompanies and slims the rectangular shape of the aquamarine. The overall carat weight of the diamonds is approximately 0.70 ct. The arrangement is designed to form a kind of "knot of light" around the central stone, a motif very popular in American jewelry of that period.
