Oil painting on cardboard by the painter Alberto Falchetti, dated 1929, depicting the Thames in London, painting size 45 x 34 cm, with contemporary frame 60 x 50 cm FALCHETTI, Alberto. - Younger son of the painter Giuseppe and Luigia Querio, he was born in Caluso (Turin) on 10 November. 1878. He received his first teachings from his father and, following the family tradition and his natural predisposition to drawing, at the age of eleven he exhibited a Study from life at the Turin Promoter. The passion for landscapes made him meet with G. Segantini, of whom he became a friend; Segantini encouraged him to leave the city to paint nature from life: on his advice the F. in 1899 went to Val d'Ayas.
