Student of Bertini at Brera, he was later strongly influenced by naturalistic verism with a 'Scapigliatura' matrix, within the schemes of the so-called Lombard Impressionism of Emilio Gola. His first painting was purchased by the Municipality for the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Milan. He participated in numerous national and foreign exhibitions with paintings of church interiors and views of Milan, especially of the Navigli canals, which he treated with preference. In 1950, a posthumous exhibition of this artist, classified as a good, sincere, fresh, and effective Lombard Impressionist, was held at the Ronzini Gallery in Milan.
