Biographical Note:
Ovidio Gragnoli artist born in Arcidosso and lived in Monte San Savino and Arezzo. Many of Gragnoli's paintings are owned by private collections in Arezzo, a city in which the painter had numerous acquaintances and where his name was popularized by the large fresco with "Scenes of the Giostra del Saracino" painted in 1939 in the restaurant "Buca of San Francesco ". Among Gragnoli's works from Arezzo, the frescoes of the seat of the Santo Spirito district, which have been lost, and the reproduction of the "Madonna della Misericordia" by Parri Spinello, which the artist donated to the Porta del Foro district in 133, should be noted. His pictorial production is inspired by the daily life of humble people and love for their land and is characterized by a realism that tackles real problems with sobriety and without humor.
