Title: Seascape at Sunset with Foaming Waves Artist: Licinio Campagnari (Mestre 1920 – Andora 1981) Technique: Oil on canvas Dimensions: Dimensions of the painting only (canvas) 48 x 38 cm Dimensions with frame: 66x56 cm. Description We offer an evocative and vibrant work by the well-known Italian painter Licinio Campagnari. Although the artist is best known for his alpine landscapes of the Aosta Valley, this marine painting reveals his versatility and ability to capture the power of nature. The painting depicts an intense seascape at sunset or dawn. The artist excels in rendering the dynamism of the foaming waves, which crash forcefully in the foreground, characterized by touches of white and deep blue-green. Light and Color: The sky, dominated by warm shades of orange, pink and pale gold, suggests a moment of luminous transition, reflecting on the surface of the water in a vibrant play of light and shadow. The twilight illuminates the crest of the waves and the wet sand on the shore. Composition: In the foreground, the action is focused on the rocky and sandy beach, with large boulders acting as static contrasting elements to the incessant movement of the sea. The use of a material and lively brushstroke, typical of Campagnari's style, gives depth and texture to the work. Signature and Conditions: The work is signed in the lower left with the unmistakable handwriting of "L. Campagnari" or "Licinio Campagnari" (as visible in the detail image). The painting is presented in a contemporary frame (of the period), in dark wood and with rich gilded carvings, which enhances its importance and chromatic contrast. The back of the painting shows the original frame and the wear of time, confirming the authenticity and era of the work. The overall state of conservation is good, with slight signs of aging consistent with its age. A regular certificate of authenticity with photo is issued.
