OUTHWAITE Buenos-Ayres

J. OUTHWAITE

(landscape engraver of English origin naturalised French in 1855

and active between 1831 and 1879)

Buenos-Ayres”

Original steelengraving after a drawing by Louis Lebreton (Paris ? - 1866) from the work “Géographie Universelle de Malt Brun” printed by Imprimerie Chardon and published by Boulanger et Legrand in Paris in 1864.

Beautiful example in perfect general condition and very nice watercoluring.

Charming general animated view of the town and harbour of the Capital of Argentina with many vessels in the foreground while sailing in a storm.

Louis Lebreton was a French painter specialised in maritime subjects, he was exhibitor at the Salon de la Peinture in Paris from 1841 to 1849 with good critic's results.
