Original woodcut signed in the plate lower left “E.A. Tilly sc.”, published as frontispice of n° 2210 of the french weekly periodical “L'Illustration Journal Universel” issued in Paris 4 July 1885.
Nice example with the usual printed text at verso, with a central horizontal fold and a few stains at the upper edge otherwise in very good condition.
Beautiful view of the symbol of the american city with visitors at the top.
The sculpture was realised by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and Gustave Eiffel and is situated on Liberty Island in the Manhattan bay.
