A twentieth-century writing on the cover reveals attribution to the painter bergamasco Luigi Bettinelli (1824-92), landscapist and continuator of Vedutism by Pietro Ronzoni. The reference to Bettinelli is, in our opinion, rectified in favor of a painter of his school, very close to the master, as confirmed by the architectures from the definite lines (Bettinelli was an engineer and professor of architectural design), atmospheric garnishment, hot chromaticity tonal. A second inscription, this time coy, placed directly on the back of the painting recites "Convent of the Benedictines in Quarto", near Genov
