Inlaid table Rolo a Cappello of the Priest Ugo Mari
Rolo inlaid Priest's Hat table,
in solid walnut and inlays of various woods,
dating back to the second half of the 19th century.
in full second Empire period.
The structural characteristics, are those of this period,
shape of the oval top with a mixtilinear profile,
with simple baluster turned stem,
with ring prominence.
The feet have a rounded back
and are shaped with a double broken volute,
with support shoe,
the pendant, in the shape of a pine cone, is also turned.
Different woods cover the surface of the top,
with partly decorative function,
while mosaic borders frame,
a central scene depicting,
on a light background, some characters,
among which, on the right, Dante Alighieri.
Thin fillets complete the decoration,
that draw elegant floral motifs.
The sailing position,
facilitates the arrangement even in confined spaces
and creates an effect, picture.
It bears a signature on the back:
"Ugo Mari carpenter in Rolo
under the province of Reggio Emilia "
