Madonna and Child, San Giovannino and Sant'Anna Lombard School of the end of the 1500s Oil on canvas II ^ half of the 1500s Canvas measurements 84 x 70 frame 94 x 84 High level work, excellent example of Lombard Renaissance painting. The Lombard school of the end of the 16th century produced paintings of great character as well as of extreme elegance and, compared to the much more affected Tuscan works, it is proposed with a decisive color scheme, with strong colors and marked chiaroscuro. The composition is solemn and perfectly balanced in the disposition of the characters. One is involved in the scene by the inviting gaze of the Virgin turned with pride towards the spectators
