Antique Italian painting from 17th century. Framework oil on canvas depicting Saint Paul, subject of sacred art of excellent pictorial quality. The saint is represented with the sword as a warrior of the spiritual battles between good and evil. Furthermore, the holy martyrs are often represented with the instrument of their death (since Paul was a Roman citizen he could not be crucified and was beheaded).
