Exceptional table screen entirely in ivory and gold lacquer with decorations in the shibayama technique with inlay of mother-of-pearl, polychrome ivory, horn, wood, tortoiseshell and coral. Note the dense decoration and the fullness of inlay that we can find in few other Shibayama objects. Scene of daily life inside a village with street vendors, farmers, entertainer and geishas. On the reverse, a refined and amusing engraving with monkeys (reminiscent of those depicted by Mori Sosen, a painter who specialized in the representation of monkeys with such ability as to create a "school") while they play and have fun with other animals.
