Scultura in terracotta policroma di forma tonda raffigurante Madonna col Bambino

Su un fondo azzurro, a rappresentazione del cielo, volano cinque piccoli cherubini dalle ali colorate e dalle simpatiche fisionomie.

Al centro, un’ altera ma dolce Madonna, vestita nei classici colori del rosso e del blu, sorregge delicatamente, facendolo appoggiare al grembo e trattenendolo amorevolmente con le mani,  il Bambino.

Lo stesso, vestito con una bianca tunichetta appoggia la gota a quella della Mamma, e con la mano destra gioca con i capelli della Madonna.

La piacevole rappresentazione, di formazione assolutamente classica, lascia trasparire, grazie alla gamma e alla brillantezza dei colori utilizzati, agli atteggiamenti e alle fisionomie rappresentate una chiara interpretazione “moderna “ e sdrammatizzante del tradizionale soggetto dell’iconografia cristiana.

L’opera, quindi, anche se realizzata con una tecnica che farebbe pensare a tempi più remoti, è ascrivibile al XX° secolo.

Madonna with Child, tondo in polychrome terracotta from the 20th century

Round polychrome terracotta sculpture depicting the Madonna and Child

On a blue background, representing the sky, fly five small cherubs with colored wings and nice faces.

In the centre, a haughty but sweet Madonna, dressed in the classic colors of red and blue, delicately supports the Child, placing it on her lap and holding it lovingly with her hands.

The same, dressed in a white tunic, rests his cheek on that of the Mother, and with his right hand plays with the hair of the Madonna.

The pleasant representation, of absolutely classical formation, reveals, thanks to the range and brilliance of the colors used, the attitudes and physiognomies represented a clear "modern" and de-dramatizing interpretation of the traditional subject of Christian iconography.

The work, therefore, even if created with a technique that would suggest more remote times, can be attributed to the 20th century.

Au centre, une Madone hautaine mais douce, vêtue des couleurs classiques du rouge et du bleu, soutient délicatement l'Enfant, le plaçant sur ses genoux et le tenant amoureusement de ses mains.

Le même, vêtu d'une tunique blanche, pose sa joue sur celle de la Mère, et de sa main droite joue avec les cheveux de la Madone.

La représentation agréable, de formation absolument classique, révèle, grâce à la gamme et à l'éclat des couleurs utilisées, les attitudes et physionomies représentées une interprétation claire "moderne" et dédramatisante du sujet traditionnel de l'iconographie chrétienne.

L'œuvre, même si elle est réalisée avec une technique qui suggérerait des temps plus reculés, peut donc être attribuée au XXe siècle.
