Luigi Rossi (Cassarate, 10 March 1852 - Tesserete, 6 August 1923) was a Swiss-Italian painter. Oil painting on tablet signed lower right Titled on the back: Milan North Station Tablet dimensions: width 48 cm; height 35 cm Frame measurements: width 64 cm; height 52 cm His training takes place at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Giuseppe Bertini. He made his debut in 1871, inaugurating a repertoire of genre scenes crossed by a subtle social criticism, which is configured as a salient feature of his production. His Ticino origins prevent him from receiving the prestigious Prince Umberto award in 1878, reserved for citizens of the Kingdom of Italy.
